Delivery & Installation

 

Here at Lords Electrical, we use our own delivery team serving out to a radial area of approximately 15 miles from any Lord's showroom.

Local Delivery

For items that we hold in stock, we can usually offer delivery within one to two days Monday to Saturday. You will have the opportunity to select your preferred delivery day during the checkout process.

This is just a preferred date, we may have to contact you with an alternative.

Should you require an AM, PM or a more specific time slot then please state your request in the box provided under the delivery day option and we will contact you shortly after to arrange this. For products priced over £150, this service is free of charge. We also offer Installation services on many products.

Am or Pm slots may not always be available in busier times.

UK Delivery

We also use DPD Courier service if you are not local to us in Leicestershire & Warwickshire. Only Smaller items can be sent like Vacuum Cleaners, Televisions up to 40", Hard Drive Recorders, Kettles, Fans, Speakers etc.. These will incur a £5 Delivery Charge at Check-out. 

Any larger items like freezers and Washing Machines are available for Click & Collect only.

Before we arrive

We request you aid installation by:

 
Ensuring you are available within the time slot agreed Deciding the exact position of the new product
Removing delicate items Providing clear access to the property
Notifying us of any stairs or narrow passages and doorways Provide clear access to walkways and floor area
Securing pets to avoid any 'underfoot accidents' Ensuring unrestricted access to taps and mains points
Ensuring working taps, mains power and aerials in place

Make sure you have all the necessary bits and pieces, eg connection hoses and leads

Checking to make sure that connection points such as plug sockets, drainage and water supplies are within reach of the manufacturers supplied cables and pipes, as we may not be able to complete the installation and you will be charged a call-out fee if a return visit is requested. 
Noting that installation does not include making alterations to your plumbing, electrics or containing units and that we are unable to remove moulded plugs from your new product for safety reasons.

 

Collecting your old appliance

We can collect your old appliance on a like-for-like basis at the time of delivery.  If we are just delivering your new product then we will not disconnect your old one, this has to be ready for us to take.

If we are installing a new item then we can disconnect your old one but we do advise that if there is an issue with your plumbing for instance then we will have to arrange a plumber on your behalf.

We charge £10 per item for collection of old appliances but this is increased to £20 for refrigeration products and American Style refrigeration is from £40. These can be added to the basket at check-out or at point of sale.


Health & Safety

We strive to provide a first-class service, but should the delivery personnel feel that damage could be incurred to the product, your property or themselves, they may refuse to complete or undertake the delivery or installation.

If this happens then they will advise you of this,  they will call the showroom to let them know that it is a failed delivery. The showroom will then contact you so that the delivery team can make their way onto their next delivery.

Refrigeration

Please note that under certain ambient temperature conditions cooling appliances such as fridges, freezers and fridge-freezers may not function properly, particularly when placed in a cold environment. There are some brands that are designed to work better in colder environments such as Blomberg and Beko.

Door reversal on refrigeration units

Door reversals are time-consuming and require plenty of space to carry them out and so will normally be undertaken prior to delivery; this means that your appliance may not be delivered in a box. Door reversals are not always possible and in some cases, additional cost and /or a third party may be required to carry them out particularly if there is an electric display on the front of the unit.

Built-in Installation

We use an excellent team for doing our Built-in appliances who are based in Birmingham, We have been using these guys for a couple of years now and have found them to be very reliable and have had excellent feedback from our customers. They can install Gas and electric, washing machines and fridges etc.. 

They can also carry out an in-home assessment if you are unsure of sizes. Please ring our showrooms to arrange this. it is priced at £50 and we should be able to use some of this towards the new appliance that you purchase from us.

Door refixing to Built-in products

Occasionally the kitchen door unit may need to be taken away in order that the existing holes can be filled to enable secure fixing to the new appliance. If this is should be the case and an additional charge of £20 will apply.
